Gerrit Winter Returns After 16 Years of Reflection with Soul-Baring EP “Undone”

Hamburg, July 2025 - After a 16-year hiatus spent in deep self-reflection and personal growth, singer and songwriter Gerrit Winter steps back into the spotlight with his emotionally raw and resonant new EP, Undone. Set for release on August 15, this four-track project signals not just a musical return, but a personal triumph.

Known for captivating audiences across German-speaking territories in the early 2000s, the now Hamburg-based artist is ready to share a new chapter, one rooted in truth, vulnerability, and the courage to begin again. Undone invites listeners into the quiet aftermath of transformation, offering an honest soundscape of healing, acceptance, identity, and rediscovery.

“This is the most honest music I’ve ever made,” says Winter. “After so much time away, I didn’t want to come back with noise, I wanted to come back with purpose.”

The EP weaves acoustic textures, cinematic undertones, and unfiltered lyrical storytelling to create a sound that feels both timeless and timely. Tracks like  “Battlefield” (featured in a four-week RTL campaign), “Heartache LoveSong”, and the upcoming single “Oxygen”  showcase his evolution, while the title track, “Undone”, serves as the emotional anchor.

The project is the result of an intensive artist development process led by Starmaker and Creative Director Marvin A. Smith, whose past works include Kylie Minogue, Zoe Wees, and Helene Fischer, to name a few. Gerrit underwent an “old school” training journey,  body awearness, performance, vocal and accent coaching, pushing him to reconnect with his craft from the ground up.

Alongside the co-production talents of Jakob Kleij, the creative team also includes top-tier collaborators such as Tommy Dell’Olio, known for mixing for Dua Lipa, Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, and more.

Gerrit spent the past 13 years in Cologne, not only coaching but helping other talents find their voice. It was in lifting others that he slowly began to rediscover his own. His work as a certified expert and speaker in the areas of mental health and personal development took him from Germany to London Business School, and into the boardrooms of major international companies. The journey was outwardly successful, but inwardly, it became a powerful and necessary healing process.

And now, he returns, not just to the stage, but to the place where his musical story began.

“I was born in the North, studied music and theology here, got my first record deal here, and played my first live radio concert for NDR right here. It felt like the right time to return to the place where it all started.”

At 41, Gerrit Winter is no longer chasing trends, he’s offering truth. With Undone, he hopes to inspire others to embrace their own second acts, no matter what chapter they’re in.

Undone will be available on all major streaming platforms beginning August 15, with a series of intimate live performances to follow later this year. Winter is currently preparing to hit the road with a series of immersive, inspirational live concepts, including INSPIRATIONAL NIGHT and INSPIRE STAGE, to bring his message, and music, to audiences across Germany and beyond.
